Job description

Reporting to the manager, Director of US taxation will have the following main responsibilities:

  • Supporting our clients in the efficient application of the complex tax rules of US taxation;
  • Suggesting relevant tax planning during specific business buy/sell, financing, succession or other transactions;
  • Support the team in the compliance of individual and corporate returns prepared by tax technicians (1040, 1120, 1120F, 5471, 5472, 1065, 8938, streamlined, etc.);
  • Guiding clients through objections and voluntary disclosures, streamlined filing procedures, etc.;
  • Advising international and non-resident clients and taking care of their specific needs (1040NR, 8288, W8, 8833, 8840, etc.);
  • Coordinating of tax technicians for the work to be done;
  • Presenting and explaining completed tax returns to clients;
  • Advising clients on tax matters;
  • Collaborating on all other files according to the needs of the Cabinet.

Required profile

  • D.E.S.S. or Master in Taxation or successful In-depth Tax Course from CPA Canada
  • Between 3 and 5 years of experience in US taxation
  • Enrolled agent accreditation will be considered an important asset
  • Bilingualism (oral and written)
  • Autonomy, resourcefulness and learning ability
  • Attention to detail and good management of priorities
